How To Create Dual Screen Wallpaper
If you have more than one monitor on a Windows PC, setting different wallpapers between the two will add a deeper level of personalization. Moreover, dual-monitor and even three-monitor wallpapers exist – where one image appears to stretch from one monitor to another. Here we show how you can use different wallpapers on a dual-screen setup. This would give a fresh appeal to both your monitors and also give them distinctness.
How to Set different wallpapers on dual-screen in Windows 10
To get started, you need to go to the Personalization option in the Control Panel.
1. Right-click on your home screen and select the Personalize option from the menu.
2. In the new window, you can browse for images you wish to set as wallpaper on both of your monitors. This way, the images would be preloaded in the "Choose your picture" option.
3. Right-click on the image. Doing this will open a new menu that will allow you to set wallpapers for each screen. There is also another option called "Choose a fit" which gives you the option to select the fit of the wallpaper. Our advice is to select the same resolution wallpaper for both screens so that there aren't any distortions.
4. Choose one wallpaper for "monitor 1" and a different wallpaper for "monitor 2." You will now see your dual-screen setup customized with two different wallpapers.
How to Choose and Use Spanning Wallpapers
While having two different wallpapers on a dual-screen setup is nice and gives you a refreshing look every time you look at either of your screens, it apparently lacks symmetry. For this, you can use a spanning wallpaper instead.
Spanning wallpaper is a single long wallpaper that spans across multiple monitors. It is a great option to add continuity to your workspace.
To achieve this, you need to have a wallpaper that is long enough to span across the dual-screen setup. Since my monitors support 1920×1080 resolution, I would download a wallpaper that measures 3840×1080. This wallpaper size is perfect for spanning the image across both monitors without losing an inch of symmetry. You can find such a wallpaper from sites like DualMonitorBackgrounds.com or WallpaperFusion.com.
Once you have downloaded the wallpaper, head to Personalize menu and set the long wallpaper as the background on your first monitor. Make sure to select the "Span" option under the "Choose a fit" menu.
Choosing the span option will automatically fill the long wallpaper on both screens.
